History: The ABCs were charter members of the first Negro National League in 1920. This is a very early example of a player numeral on a jersey (the New York Yankees did not wear numbers until 1929). #10 was worn by shortstop William Bobby Robinson, “the human vacuum cleaner” for his ability to scoop ground balls. In addition to Indianapolis, Robinson played for eight other Negro Leagues clubs.

History: The Indianapolis Clowns began as a barnstorming team known for their pre-game entertainment as much as for their ball skills. Once they joined the Negro American League they focused on baseball and won the NAL title in 1950. The Clowns are best known for three signings: the great women players Toni Stone and Connie Morgan and a raw youngster named Henry Aaron.
